Deflector Plate and Charcoal Ring for 18", 22", and 26" Weber Kettle Grills

from $79.99

This deflector plate and charcoal ring kit is designed for the kettle enthusiast who wants to cook low and slow while utilizing the entire grill grate surface. Heat generated from the coals in the lower ring will deflect to the outside of the kettle, providing an indirect heat throughout the kettle.

-No modifications to your existing grill required.

-Does Not Fit 22” Jumbo Joe Kettles or any Smokey Joe models.

-Deflector Plate (Mild Steel Option): Made out of Cold Rolled Mild Steel at .078” thick (2 mm)**. (Mild Steel will rust without proper care. It is recommended that the steel be seasoned with a cooking oil while the plate is hot. Simply using the product while cooking meat will also help season it from fat drippings. Store in a dry location.) Other instructions will be provided with your order.

-Deflector Plate (Stainless Steel Option): Made out of 304 Stainless Steel. Stainless Steel will resist rust and last longer and is generally lower maintenance.

-For 18” Kettle: Deflector Plate is 15” Diameter ($79.99)

-For 22” Kettle: Deflector Plate is 19” Diameter ($99.99) **Now made out of 3mm SS

-For 26” Kettle: Charcoal ring is 15.5” diameter (3.25” tall)

-Deflector Plate rests on top of Charcoal Ring’s upper tabs. A small 1/4” gap exists between the two so that heat and air can flow freely to the outside of the kettle.

-1” gap around the perimeter between kettle wall and deflector plate edge.

-Distance between plate and grill grate is 1.5” (can accommodate water pan up to 1.5” tall)

-Charcoal Ring for 22” Kettle holds up to about 100-125 Kingsford briquettes (85-105 for 18” kettle, or 120-140 for 26” Kettle) just dumping the bag into the ring. Might hold more if individually organized by hand.

Directions for use: Place charcoal ring on lower charcoal grate. Fill ring with desired amount of charcoal (holds roughly 100+ briquettes). Add wood as desired for smoke. Light the coals in the middle of your pile with your fire starter of choice. Once middle coals are gray and established, cover the ring with the deflector plate. Add a shallow tray of water on top of plate if desired. Regulate temperature with vents to achieve desired temperature.

-My tests have shown that I can hold about 250 degrees F for 8 hours with a full ring of charcoal.
